Elly Feldstein (1997), MA, likes to challenge conventional furniture pieces and explore new aesthetics and functions. It is interesting for her to draw inspiration from traditional crafts and objects that embody past values and combine them with contemporary needs to create a new perspective. 


She is motivated to create longlasting objects, and therefore considers the user experience and how an object connects to its surroundings. She believes functionality, aesthetics and curiosity are essential to expand the life of an object. Which is a thought of sustainability as a natural starting point when designing.


Through work and studies she has gained experience working in both the commercial and conceptual design fields, which has equipped her with a diverse skill set. Personally, she enjoys working in a crossfield, designing objects that both serve a purpose and evoke emotion.

Dutch Invertuals Exhibtion: 
SPECIMEN - 15 Designers, 1 ChairThis year, Dutch Invertuals is excited to celebrate its 15th anniversary. To mark this milestone, Dutch Invertuals challenged its network to redesign a chair created for the 5TRACKS Offices interior. This project showcases each designer’s expertise, craftsmanship and personal style.Like biologists collect specimens to understand evolution, Dutch Invertuals invited 15 designers highlighting each designer’s evolutionary process. 


	Loom Armchair explores a new take on the traditional Scandinavian weave chairs. As a contrast to using upholstery, the weave itself adds a soft and flexible seating and backrest. By using the hemp based flag halyard the armchair appears light and translucent, when experiencing it from the front or back.

	Sunday Chair2023
	

Sunday Chair was originally designed for the art gallery Sunday-s in Copenhagen. Designing a sculptural yet functional chair that would be able to last a lifetime and age with beauty.


The chair is sculptural and monolithic in its form language and offers seating, where wear and tear is very welcome. For this specific reason the chair is crafted in 35 mm thick massive pine wood, sourced from a local sawmill. Pine wood is an overlooked wood sort, that has a very refined grain that brings tactility to the furniture.

	‘In Transit’&#38;nbsp;Graduation Show, Royal Danish Academy, 2023


	The group exhibition 'IN TRANSIT’ showcases a variety of projects shaped by the upcoming graduates from Furniture &#38;amp; Object, Spatial Design and Strategic Design &#38;amp; Entrepreneurship at the Royal Danish Academy. 
	‘IN TRANSIT’ invites guests to get a glimpse of the many reflections, tests and experiments behind the graduation projects and dive into the results – highlighting the value of the design process. A mix between scale models, material samples, furniture pieces and architectural models will reveal numerous agendas and suggest a more sustainable tomorrow. A landscape of islands will inhabit the historical industrial hall at Refshaleøen and gather the diverse range of work by the 2023 graduates.Exhibition design by Elly Feldstein and Lærke Ryom.

Stackable &#38;amp; Sculptural
2022


	The project challenges the contract market’s stackable furniture by rethinking their use. Through a new furniture I want to offer flexible use and a sculptural value as a contrast to hiding the furniture in storage rooms when stacked.

The stool is designed to be used individually as seating, as a side table when stacked or combined in twos and as a sculpture when stacking multiple stools.

Come Together
2021

	
Come Together is a low seating table designed for collective use to enhance togetherness and community. It invites people to gather, have a conversation or share a meal on the same level in a simple and relaxed way by sitting on the floor. The material is a patchwork of old, discarded furnitures that through this table tell a shared story of differences coming together. By showcasing elements, joints and marks from the previous furnitures, these details now appear as decorations for the user to explore. Through this exploration a story is revealed and a connection created. 


The table consists of 6 pieces, which enables the users to adjust it to their needs. They can be used separately for more intimate gatherings or together as one large table.
 The furniture is made for the Dutch Invertuals exhibition “Objects for a New kind of Society” 2021.&#38;nbsp;
Come Together is a part of the Revalued Objects and made by honouring the craft, past and material found in discarded furnitures. With the believe that these elements enhance the connection between user and object.&#38;nbsp;

Silhouette(sketch model) 2021&#38;nbsp;

	
	Silhouette is a lamp design based on using veneer as material. The lamp consists of two shapes. One, the arc, made by the veneer. And the other, the square, made by the frosted glass. When turned off the square is most visible, but when turned on the arc-silhouette appears.&#38;nbsp;
As a pendel the lamp shed a dim light upwards and sideways and a direct light downwards. By using a thin ash veneer the lamp shed a warm light to its surroundings.
	The design is translated into a pendel, spotlight, wall lamp, floor lamp and table lamp.&#38;nbsp;
